Gmail on Braille Sense

So I'm having trouble getting my gmail account set up on my u2. Every time I try to check it I get some error message that says something like unable to connect to server, or web authentication required. Whatever that means. Even got HIMS on the phone and filled in the fields under the account manager exactly as they told me to. Any ideas?

It sounds to me like your google account may be locked to only use google related apps, unless you already use something like one of the older mail clients, thunderbird or the like on a computer.

It's in your google account settings, I don't remember the exact name of the setting you need.
